Memories

As I travel this road alone
Sometime I get tired and weary
And have a longing to go home.

As memories go back to yesterday.
We were happy, young and gay.
Never thinking death would come our way.

Most of my children are out in sin.
But now I have been born again.
So I'll carry this burden if God permits
Until they are all redeemed from sin.

In dreams I can see a beautiful city
Where we shall dwell for evermore.
I try to imagine what it's like inside
If only I could see inside the door.

But I must travel this road alone
Till God says "Son, bring my children home".
So walk slowly dear, and watch for me
I'll be coming soon.
